My Etsy adventure begins

The past month or so has been extremely chaotic for my family. We had a death in the extended family, I had some health concerns that, thankfully, turned out to be minor, and work has been crazy busy with churning out content for several specials, including a month-long breast cancer awareness campaign. (Ladies, make sure to schedule your yearly mammograms!) And in between everything, I have started something rather scary… opening my own Etsy shop.

Right now, I’ve just listed some of the jewelry I’ve made. I do enjoy making jewelry, but I don’t wear much of it myself, so otherwise, it would just sit in a box. I hope to soon add some crafting supplies such as resin pieces made from the various moulds I’ve collected, destash supplies, fairy artwork and handmade cards. But for now, it’s just jewelry.

I had an Etsy shop several years ago, selling cross stitch patterns. It was a bit successful, but I had to close it when Etsy changed their policies. I’ve revamped and renamed my shop to sell physical items now.

If you’d like to stop by, please visit my shop, CarolineByDesignTN. Thank you for your support and encouragement. I should be back to crafting in the next few weeks! 🙂

Sparkling Swarovski

Since beginning my foray into jewelry making, I have discovered that I just love working with Swarovski crystals. Which isn’t really surprising. My mother collected Swarovski figurines when I was a child and we still have them lovingly displayed in their little cabinet. There’s just something breathtaking about seeing Swarovski crystals glitter in the light. But then, I’ve always been attracted to shiny things. Must have been a magpie in a former life.

I recently made some more jewelry to add to my “craft show” stash. Mostly earrings, but I did manage a bright blue necklace as well.

More jewelry making attempts

I’ve made a few more necklaces and other pieces since my last jewelry post. I’m hoping to open an Etsy shop soon, as well as gather enough stock to try my hand at a craft show closer to Christmas. Not sure if any of these will sell, but I’ve had fun making them, regardless. I don’t wear a lot of jewelry myself, but a couple of these pieces are keepers, I think.

Trying my hand at jewelry-making

I’ve been trying my hand at making jewelry lately. To teach myself, I’ve been following the free patterns over at Artbeads.com and I’m quite pleased with how everything has been turning out. These are some of my “learning” makes:

And now I’ve started making my own “patterns” for jewelry. Just a couple of memory wire bracelets and a necklace or two. But I have designs in my mind that I’m eager to try in the future.

I’m hoping to take most of these to a local craft fair soon!
