Guest Designer: Stay Curious

I’m back today with my last project for WOW! Embossing Powder. This week, WOW! is collaborating with Fiskars on the WOW! Facebook page. There’s even a chance to win some cool prizes, so head on over to Facebook and check it out!

Fiskars was kind enough to send me a pair of their wonderful scissors to use on my project. Fiskars is a much-loved brand in my house. When I opened the package that contained the scissors, my mother took one look at them, pounced, and declared, “Mine!” I managed to get them back with the promise that they would be hers when I was done with them.

I decided to do a mini-art journal page and use the scissors for some fussy cutting. I stamped my Alice stamp onto a scrap piece of adhesive canvas and colored her with Zig brush markers. This gave her an almost etherial look compared to the rest of the page, like she really was in Wonderland.

My inspiration for the page was the fabulous new collection from Bo Bunny, Land of Wonder. I used some ephemera pieces, which I distressed with the Fiskars scissors, for the arrows, then fussy cut some of the triangles from “Madness” 6×6 paper for the background, which I had inked with Distress Oxide inks. I also added the clock ephemera piece with foam squares and some Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers for the sentiment. Finally, I used the WOW! embossing pen over the red elements on the page and heat embossed with Red Glitz embossing powder for some sparkle.
